    • Led by exemplary Coaches Chris Miller and Darlene Moore, the boys on the Southern Boone County Soccer team excel off the field as well as on. Exhibiting enthusiasm, respect, and support for one another year-round, I am proud of the integrity they represent for our rural community. Our coaches model those attributes as they coach not only the soccer player, but the whole person. Always looking out for their emotional, mental, and physical well being Coaches Miller and Moore have a special relationship with each player. As a parent, I can attest to their commitment to do all that they can to help my child be the best they can be both on and off of the field. With all of these honorable traits, it is easy to see why our community is behind our soccer team all the way!

    • Southern Boone Eagles started and completed the season with only 4 seniors on the team and one was a 1st year rookie. Their key to success was communication and teamwork.

    • We love our Eagles! We have persevered through injuries and have had a growing program the last few years. They have done a superb job this year and I'd love to see them win this "title" from KRCG! GO EAGLES!!!!!

    • This was my first year to experience Soccer at Southern Boone. It was wonderful watching them work so well as a team and supporting each other throughout the season. The coaching staff is great and I saw positive changes in my son that were a direct result of that leadership.

    • The SoBoCo HS soccer team has completed an exceptional year and has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship in playing against some talented teams. The small, but effective, group of seniors has instilled pride and a strong competitive spirit among their teammates that should lead to continuation of success in the future. Watching several games this year has been a real pleasure and I think the young men make up an excellent team and is worthy of recognition throughout Mid-Missouri!

    • The cities of Ashland and Hartsburg are very supportive of the local youth sports programs. The parents are supportive of players that choose to play competitive soccer. Boone County Journal provides coverage for local soccer teams of all ages. The High School coaches provide support and advice for the youth coaches. As a result, Southern Boone County High School has a large successful soccer program. Winning this award would validate the hard work of the players and the support of everyone who contributes to the success of this soccer team.

    • Coach Miller and Moore had a huge team because they believe in player development and always run a classy program. All the players had varsity playing time in multiple games including at least one tournament. The boys are a great bunch and they work hard with a high percentage attending summer camp and team camp. The boys played with lots of heart and had a great season. I am proud to have my son play soccer with this team. They deserve to win team of the week. Kristi Savage-Clarke

    • Could we please keep this positive? SoBoCo fields a large soccer team because the coaches, players, and parents are dedicated to having a quality program. This is something to be proud of. We have one of the best soccer programs in the state for a school our size. The SoBoCo football team also fielded a record number of players and had a stellar season. Congratulations to all, keep up the hard work and keep it positive!

    • December 5, 2010 - 1:45 PM: class of soccer is decided by the size of school, not by the size of the soccer team. retarded
    • December 6, 2010 - 8:20 AM by Anonymous
    • What does football have to do with this? Perhaps if you did your homework you would know that football and soccer have different numbers of schools and different class sizes. I don't recall seeing Mexico Military having 20 players on the football sideline. Isn't this about what soccer accomplished instead of football, anyway? don't need respect from people like you anyway.
    • December 5, 2010 - 1:45 PM by Anonymous
    • Why is the soccer team class 1 and your football team class 3? A little more competition instead of being the largest school in class 1 would give you more respect. The couple games I saw you had 20 players on the sidelline compared to 3 playes for your competition. Sorry - no respect for that.

    • all 6 losses by 1 goal. 5 of the 6 losses to state playoff teams, including marshall (final 4), moberly (won 20), fatima (won 19) and sacred heart (quarterfinalists) twice. why the hatin?
    • December 3, 2010 - 1:34 PM by Anonymous
    • so 19 wins and only six against tough teams? that leaves 13 wins against girly-boys and six losses to who? you screw off.

    • and sacred heart 3x you a hole

    • They said it could not be done, having a successful soccer program AND a successful "American" football program at such a small school as ours. I admit, I was one of the skeptics and I am delighted to have been proven wrong. Now Soboco has put small town mid-Mo soccer on the map (for the boys AND the girls) even as we had a very successful football season. Fantastic job, coaches, kids, and all the school supporters! Go Eagles.
